What is the relationship between Wonderland, Inc. and Beatrice Mayes Institute?

Wonderland, Inc. is an umbrella nonprofit organization that includes the tuition-free Beatrice Mayes Institute public charter school (K-8) and private Wonderland School (PreK).

Is there a school uniform policy?

Students are required to wear uniforms on specific days. The uniforms are
plaid green color. Uniforms help students feel part of the same team and feel
as well as eliminating any pressure that students may face regarding fashion.

Does BMI offer athletics and extracurricular activities?

BMI believes in the value of athletics and extracurricular activities. They provide students with leadership skills, learn the value of teamwork, and provide students with a social outlet that helps them get to know other students outside the classroom. Some of the extracurricular activities that we provide include athletics, modern dance, choir, newspaper, and drama.

Is BMI an HISD school?

BMI is not affiliated with Houston ISD. BMI is an independent public school
governed by a volunteer separate board of directors. BMI does follow the same
calendar as Houston ISD schools.

This private school is available for parents with children ages 18 months to 4 years. The Wonderland Private School curriculum includes academic disciplines within science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. The curriculum also includes character building and creating strong moral foundations for students of this institution. Parents and/or legal guardians must pay tuition and other related fees to enroll in Wonderland Private School.

Is BMI a religious school?

BMI is a secular public school that is not affiliated with any religion. The school
is open to all students regardless of race, nationality, or religion.
